Amazon S3 in AWS China

Amazon Web Services China runs in the separate aws-cn partition and provides two Regions: China (Beijing) and China (Ningxia). TntDrive supports Amazon S3 in both Regions.

Supported Amazon S3 endpoints

TntDrive uses the dual-stack regional endpoints shown below and selects the correct endpoint automatically. You do not need to enter an endpoint when adding an account.

To use Amazon S3 in the AWS China Regions, you need an Amazon Web Services China account and credentials created in the aws-cn partition. Credentials created for standard AWS Regions or AWS GovCloud (US) cannot access resources in the China Regions, and Amazon Web Services China credentials cannot access resources in other AWS partitions.

ICP recordal is required when you want to make content publicly available through Amazon Web Services China. Authenticated private or internal access does not require ICP recordal and can use an Internal Access Account.

Important technical differences

• Only AWS Signature Version 4 is supported for Amazon S3 requests in the China Regions.
• Amazon S3 Transfer Acceleration is not available in China (Beijing) or China (Ningxia).
• Copy operations and cross-Region replication between the China Regions and AWS Regions outside China are not available.
• Amazon S3 bucket names are unique within the aws-cn partition.

Add an Amazon S3 in China account to TntDrive

1. Start TntDrive Dashboard and choose Accounts > Add new account...

   

2. The Add New Account dialog will open.

   

3. Enter an account name.

4. Choose Amazon S3 in China as the account type.

5. Specify the Access Key ID and Secret Access Key created for your Amazon Web Services China account.

6. Keep Use secure transfer (SSL/TLS) enabled to encrypt communications with Amazon S3.

7. Click Add new account.

You can now add a new mapped drive and select this account. The same account can be used with buckets in China (Beijing) and China (Ningxia).
